GLUSBURN Primary School staff have been praised by MP Julian Smith for their work helping improve pupils’ SATs marks.
Mr Smith, the MP for Skipton and Ripon, recently wrote to the school to express his “heartfelt congratulations” to the staff team.
Head Richard Hunt said: “We received praise for greatly raising the proportion of students achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and maths at Key Stage 2 (year six) at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year.
“During the same academic year the school performed above national figures in Early Years assessments, the year one screening test and in Key Stage I combined reading, writing and maths results.”
In his letter, Mr Smith added: “I am sure that the whole school is delighted with the improvement from 51% in 2017 to 74% in 2018, and I would like to encourage you to continue striving for improvement again this year.”
