POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an alleged attempted robbery at a post office in Embsay.
It is alleged that the failed robbery took place at the store in East Lane at around 5.20pm on Monday (April 1).
Police launched an investigation, including extra patrols to reassure the community, and house-to-house enquiries in the area.
Two arrests were made following the incident and the suspects released pending further inquiries.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Embsay area around the time of the incident, or has any information that could assist the investigation, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 12190058566.
