SKIPTON Rotarians are appealing for donations of no longer wanted bikes for its Cycles2Recycle scheme.

The annual appeal by the Rotary Club of Skipton will see an auction of bikes taking place at the town’s auction mart in June.

Club member, David Goldie, said: “We are collecting all makes and sizes of bikes for either sale or refurbishment. Those bikes in good condition will be auctioned for sale on Sunday, June 9 at Skipton Auction Mart, and bikes needing repair will be passed to the Margaret Carey Foundation for refurbishment and then donated overseas.”

All profits from the bike sale will be donated to Rotary International charities such as Aquabox. The auction on June 9 will start at 11am, with viewing from 10am.

Anyone with a bike they want to donate can take it to the Rotary Car Park, at Skipton Building Society, The Bailey, on Saturdays, between 10am and 2pm. Or to organise a collection, email cycles2recycle@skiptonrotary.org or phone 07942 949064
