RIBBLE Valley author, Catherine Robinson, has been nominated for the national writing award ‘Comedy Women in Print’ for her debut comedy fiction novel Forging On.
Catherine, a part time English teacher who lives in Waddington, is one of 12 writers whose novels have been shortlisted for the award.
"I’m among some very respected names in writing so I’m thoroughly delighted to be nominated," she said.
Forging On, described as a 'love letter to Yorkshire' in set in a Yorkshire village and tells the story of a young farrier on a farm.
Catherine, as well as being a teacher at schools and colleges for more than 30 years, has farmed a small flock of Derbyshire Gritstone sheep, and bred horses. Her son, Joe, is a farrier in Ilkley.
She is due to take part in the Stonyhurst Literature and Film Festival in August at Stonyhurst
College, near Clitheroe.
The winner for the ‘Comedy Women In Print’ Award will be announced on July 10.
