STEETON Primary School hosted a reading and phonics showcase event.
Teachers from several schools in the district attended to see phonics sessions in action.
They learned more about effective early-reading teaching and shared ideas.
The event was held in conjunction with Burley Woodhead’s English Hub.
Kevin Wheeler, Steeton Primary head of school, said: "It was a pleasure to host schools from around the district.
"We firmly believe that the most effective school improvement comes from sharing good practice with other settings.
"This was a great opportunity for all the schools involved, including ourselves, to be able to share ideas.
"I am grateful to all our staff – teaching and non-teaching – for their efforts in making the showcase a success.
"Also, a big 'well done' to our children, who were a credit to us as usual and were completely unfazed by so many people visiting their lessons."
The English Hub supports schools with age-appropriate phonics provision and language development, and aims to promote a love of reading in children.
Mr Wheeler added: "Charlotte Bingham, our phonics leader at Steeton, hopes to use her extensive skills and knowledge as one of the English Hub’s literacy specialists with school-to-school support following the successful event."
