PHOTOGRAPHERS are being invited to submit pictures of the Yorkshire Dales for a fundraising calender - and possibly win a weekend break in the country.

The Clapham based charity, the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) has once again joined forces with Cottage in the Dales and design agency Fever Digital to produce a calendar.

People have until the end of the month to submit photographs capturing the distinctive people, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales.

The winning photographer will receive a three-night weekend or four-night midweek break at one of the three multi-award winning Cottage in the Dales luxury cottages in Wensleydale or in Bishopdale.

Diane Howarth, director of Cottage in the Dales, based in Leyburn, said they were delighted to offer first prize in the photography competition.

“As a long-standing business supporter of the trust, especially through the tree planting scheme, we offer our guests the opportunity to leave their own green mark on the Yorkshire Dales for future generations to enjoy,” she said.

“We look forward to seeing the superb quality and quantity of entries to the competition of this beautiful area we are so lucky to call home that we share with our guests all year round.”

As well as revealing the overall winner and runner-up, the judges will also select a set of images that will together showcase the Dales through the seasons for its popular 2020 Yorkshire Dales charity calendar.

Gargrave-based web, design and communications agency Fever Digital will for the eighth year design the calendar free of charge as part of its commitment to help support the Yorkshire Dales.

Jonny Priestley, the agency’s creative director, said: “We’re proud to have been supporting the work of YDMT for many years through donations, tree dedications, web development, and by designing their Yorkshire Dales calendar for free each year to help boost fundraising.

“We’re fortunate enough to live and work in this beautiful part of the world ourselves, and we believe it’s important to give a little back and support our area and organisations. It’s great to be able to use our expertise to help YDMT and the Yorkshire Dales thrive.”

The calendar will go on sale in August and all money raised will help to support YDMT’s work in supporting the people, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas.

The deadline for entries is May 31. Entries should be made on line at: woobox.com/abipb6
