DO you want to connect and be inspired with the heritage of the Yorkshire Dales? Then Stories in Stone could have the ideal course for you.

Expert training in subjects such as botanical and tree identification is available thanks to a learning programme focusing on the natural, built and cultural heritage of the Ingleborough area.

The courses are part of the Stories in Stone scheme, a programme of community and heritage projects developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership, led by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

They include arts, botany, archaeology and heritage Skills – and there is something for everyone and of all ages.

On Saturday, April 27, line and wash workshop, a full day with artist John Harrison centred around Stainforth; May1, orchid Identification and conservation at Colt Park Barn, Chapel-le-dale; May 2, botany for beginners at Malham Tarn Field Centre; May 25, woodland flora - a one day course to provide basic understanding of woodlands and their flora, at Wharfe Wood, Grassington; May 30 - Interpreting Archaeological Landscapes at Helwith Bridge.
