KEEN wildlife photographer Ron Blackburn did his good deed for the day last week when he rescued a barn owl which had become caught in netting.
Mr Blackburn lives at Goodenbergh Country Holiday Park, in Low Bentham, where he runs a wildlife hide.
One morning last week he came across a barn owl which had flown into some netting.
Despite a battle against its sharp beak and talons, Mr Blackburn managed to cut it free and it flew into a nearby tree.
The next day he set up a hide nearby and was rewarded when the owl came to sit on a fence post just 20 feet away and none the worse for its experience.
