MEMBERS of the Skipton branch of the Royal British Legion will be joining members of RAFA in remembrance of VE Day on May 8 at the war memorial in the high street.
The service will begin at 11am and will be conducted by retired Lt Col Roger Lowan.
Around 20 members of the Skipton Royal British Legion branch will be marking the remembrance service in Rothesay, on the Isle of Bute, to twin with the branch there.
Victory in Europe Day marks May 8, 1945, when the World War II allies formally accepted an unconditional surrender by the armed forces of Germany and the end of Adolf Hitler's Third Reich, after six years of the bloodiest conflict in human history.
The 70th anniversary of the day was commemorated in 2015.
