YOUNG members of theatre groups in Oakworth and Sutton learned from professionals during special performance workshops in Bridlington.

Youngsters from KYDZ Keighley Youth Theatre and Sutton’s Green Hut Youth Theatre took part in six hours of dance, singing and drama workshops.

They were among and teenagers from groups across the north-east invited to the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) annual weekend.

While adult thespians attended Noda’s annual general meeting, the young people sang challenging songs from hit musical Hamilton and picked up acting tips at an improvisation session.

These workshops followed an exhilarating morning learning dances from Abba musical Mamma Mia alongside adults from many of the region’s amateur theatrical groups, including Keighley Musical Theatre Company.

The KYDZ members were Hannah Wedge, Peter Harris, Michael Corcoran and Hannah Woollett, who have all choreographed routines for their shows in Oakworth.

The Sutton teenagers, Tammy Wilson and Carla Cadwallader, attend the village’s fortnightly Youth Theatre as well as perform in pantos and musicals with its parent group, Sutton’s Green Hut Theatre Company.
