A GRITTY drama set in Beirut is this month’s movie hosted by Keighley Film Club.
The volunteer-club will screen the 15-certificate Capernaum at the Picture House cinema on North Street on May 19.
The 126-minute drama set in Beirut follows a group of illegal immigrants living in the cramped streets, also documenting their time in juvenile prison.
The focus of the film is Zain, an angry 12-year-old who is hostile to his parents and society and survives on the streets through his wits.
Keighley Film Club’s screens films on the third Sunday of each month at 6pm, with doors opening at 5.35pm.
The films are open to the general public, but the club encourages people to join so they can receive reduced-priced tickets.
