HEALTHY walks in the South Craven countryside will be highlighted at a sale in Cross Hills.

South Craven Walking 4 Health will hold their annual bazaar at St Peter’s Church on Saturday May 11 from 9.30am to noon.

Stalls will sell garden vegetable plants, bric-a-brac, books, DVDs, toys, games and cakes.

Betty Hardaker, one of the walks programme organisers, said the bazaar was a highlight of the group’s year.

She said: “It is an opportunity to showcase the range of 'health walks' we do. Our daytime walks on Monday and Thursday mornings are very popular and the Wednesday summer evening walks are ideal for working people.

“There will be an exhibition and video about the walks. People who are interested in joining us are welcome to come and talk with us."

South Craven Walking 4 Health has been organising regular health walks for more than 10 years, aimed at people who need to undertake physical activity for health reasons.

The walking group is one of over 350 schemes in England supported by the Ramblers.
