MASTERCHEF winner Irini Tzortzoglou is due to headline an Ingleton business’s first ever food fair next month which will also include a performance by the Leyland Brass Band.

Country Harvest, on the A65, will be holding the four-day event from June 6 to June 9, featuring producers from across Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire.

And, it will include a free masterclass by Irini Tzortzoglou, this year’s winner of BBC’s MasterChef.

There will also be demonstrations by the Yorkshire Food Finder Sue Nelson; cocktail making with Yorkshire Dales Distillery; sausage making with the Country Harvest butchers; pie tasting, and a junior bake off competition.

Irini, who lives in Cartmel, South Lakes, said: “I am delighted to be part of Country Harvest’s first food festival. Since winning MasterChef it’s been a whirlwind but I can always find time to support great, local food businesses. I am particularly looking forward to this event as I know Country Harvest well and this event they are putting on is celebrating produce from Yorkshire, Lancashire and of course Cumbria where I live. I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

The event will kick off at 6.30pm on June 6 with former Great British Bake Off contestants, Howard Middleton and Sandy Docherty competing in a baking masterclass. People will have to buy tickets for the evening masterclass, but all the daytime masterclasses and tastings are free. Tickets will also be needed for the Saturday when the Leyland Brass Band takes to the stage
