MORE than 100 cyclists saddled-up for the Three Dales Mountain Bike Challenge in aid of Manorlands.

Participants in yesterday’s event could choose from three routes – Ribble, covering nearly 40 miles; Aire, 25.2 miles, or Wharfe, just under 13 miles.

Both the longer rides started from Threshfield, and the third at Grassington.

First home on the Ribble route was Nathan Judge – in 3:16:59 – Aire, Martin O’Hanlon in 2:34:19, and Wharfe, Melissa Windley in 1:54:57. All finishers received a medal and pie and peas.

The event raised about £5,000 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Andrew Wood, for Manorlands, said: “There were some great results, especially as the ground was wet and under water in places. Everyone really enjoyed the day.” He thanked sponsor All Terrain Cycles and volunteers – including Keighley police cadets – who helped out on the day.
