WEST Yorkshire Police have confirmed on Twitter that seven of their officers were punched while on the job this week.
The worrying statistic forms part of their weekly update regarding attacks on their members. Overall, in the past week, 30 officers and one Community Support Officer were assaulted.
As well as seven officers being punched, nine were kicked and another nine were grappled or had bodily force used upon them.
Five were spat at while on duty and two each were bitten and headbutted.
