A GROUP of near octogenarian former Skipton Girls High school pupils held a reunion - more than 50 years after they left the school.
The class of 1951, all of them in their 80th year, were also joined by former teachers, Joan Stinton, 87, and Pat Pollard, also 87, for lunch at The Old Swan in Gargrave.
Vera Sharp, formerly Vera Dinsdale, decided to get as many together as possible after meeting up with a fellow pupil at Easter. In the end, she managed to get hold of 16 of the former classmates, who travelled to Gargrave from places including Boston Spa, Otley, Baildon and Skipton.
“We had a wonderful time reminiscing and looking at old photos and plan to do it all again, “ she said.
