TWO neighbours in Ingleton are celebrating after they scooped £30,000 each thanks to playing People’s Postcode Lottery.

The win came after their postcode, LA6 3GH, was drawn as a winner for the lottery’s Street Prize on Sunday (June 16).

The Old Laundry Mews winners were not at home at the weekend to receive their money, so the cheques will be paid directly into their bank accounts.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Judie McCourt, said: “I’m chuffed for our Ingleton winners today! I’m sure they’ll enjoy spending the prize money and treat themselves to something nice.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise more than £438 million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Ramblers which has received over £7 million thanks to player support. The charity works to protect and expand the places people love to walk and promote walking for health and pleasure - including the Yorkshire Dales.

Charities in the area benefit from player support too. Dignity in Dementia recently received £2,000 to run a weekly reading group for people with dementia to improve their wellbeing and reduce their feelings of social isolation.
