A NEW support group for people who have lost their hair through cancer, or for some other reason, is to meet every month in Skipton at Cancer Support Yorkshire.

Jane Dyminsky, of Steeton, set up her alternative hair specialist business, Bigwigs, after losing all her own hair to alopecia. Her aim is to help others with alopecia, and people with hair loss due to cancer related treatments.

The first of monthly meetings will take place on Wednesday, July 3 at the centre in Otley Street, between 7pm and 8pm, with following meetings taking place the same time, on the first Wednesday of every month.

Debi Hawkins, centre manager said, “Janey aims to help and support people to find the right wig, scarf or hat and she will be working alongside our own Image Solutions service. Janey can also see people in their own home or she has use of a hair salon in Steeton.”

Interested people can contact Jane on 07792 768 611 or Debi at Cancer Support Yorkshire on 01756 228088. The centre is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
