TEN year old Annie Woodhead is getting ready to have her long hair shaved off, to help children with special needs.

Annie’s cousin, Oliver, has autism and his parents run the twice monthly Sky Club in Nottingham for children with both autism and special needs, but need to raise money to keep it going.

Annie’s mum, Sally, said Annie has been growing her hair for more than a year and will have it all shaved off at the end of her time at Lothersdale Primary School in July, and before she starts at South Craven School.

“Our current total is £700 which is unbelievable. One year’s rent is £600 so we are now aiming for two years if we can,” said Sally.

“So many people are saying how selfless it is and what a great thing to do when so many young girls are driven by appearance. When asked, Annie just shrugs and says ‘it’s just hair.”

Annie’s headshave will take place on July 17 in the school playground. To support her in her fundraising, visit her fundraising page: justgiving/crowdfunding/annieshaveitforautism
