LIBRARIES across Craven are calling for young people to get involved in the annual ‘out of this world’ Summer Reading Challenge.

Volunteers, from 13 to 24 years old, are needed to help out at the North Yorkshire County Council ‘Space Chase’ event, marking the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing and aimed at encouraging children to read.

From Saturday, July 13, volunteers will be involved in registering children for the challenge, helping them to choose books, talking to them about the books they have read and assisting with library events.
