LOTHERSDALE Primary School is celebrating after its rugby team triumphed in the Craven Schools' tag rugby tournament held at Sandylands Sports Centre.
Two impressive wins by the year five and six team ensured the children were brimming with confidence as they made their way to the final.
A school spokesman said: "The whole team were more than up for the challenge and continued with two more hard fought victories before losing the fifth game. This would only make the group stronger in their final three games.
"They continued the task ahead, showing dogged determination and passion to be representing Lothersdale School, which led them to being triumphant in the remaining games and bring the title home."
The spokesman added: "Many congratulations to Mr Craven and the players ~ Lothersdale Primary School is proud of them all! In addition, many thanks to Wharfedale Rugby Club and Hedley Verity for his coaching and significant contribution to local primary schools’ rugby."
