REHEARSALS are underway for Skipton Musical Theatre Company’s next production - Past and Present - A Musical Theatre Showcase, featuring all the best and well known songs from musicals old and new.
Rehearsals start on Tuesday (July 2) in the upstairs function room of The Black Horse pub, High Street, Skipton, with the group keen to encourage potential new members to come along and ‘discover the joys and delights of performing in a musical theatre company.
Current members have been busy contributing to a blog on the company’s website, explaining just what they get out of amateur dramatics.
One member blogged he got involved in his 40s after his daughter joined a society. He started out by helping backstage.
“Through Am-Dram I’ve made many life long friends and had some amazing experiences. I’ve made friends and connections with people in other societies which earlier this year meant I got to appear at The Alhambra. There is no greater experience than rehearsing for months and then seeing the reaction of an audience when you know you have nailed it.”
Rehearsals take place on Tuesdays at 7.30pm at The Black Horse, to find out more, visit: skiptonmtc.co.uk/
