SIR - I note with interest in this weeks's Craven Herald that there is a plan to spend £350.000 on repairs and refurbishment of canal areas in Skipton, with some work taking place along the Springs Branch of the canal. This will mean that there will be a group of skilled workers along with heavy plant and machinery operating in the area, I sincerely hope that this taskforce will be utilised to clear the rockfall which collapsed during the boxing day storm of 2015. This would make the area at the rear of the historic castle a much tidier place, allowing the tourist boats to once again take visitors along the foot of the cliff to marvel at the town's most impressive feature, thus enhancing visitor experience to the town, which I believe was the object of the investment.
