YORKSHIRE’S Favourite Pub 2019 has been revealed, and for the first time in the competition’s nine-year history, The Lister Arms, at Malham, has taken the crown.

Presented on the Welcome to Yorkshire stand at the Great Yorkshire Show today by celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager, The Royal Oak at Ripon was awarded second place and Miller’s Bar, Brighouse, came third.

Darren Dunn, general manager of the Lister Arms said about the win:“This is absolutely wonderful news for all of us in Malham and all of us at the Lister arms.

“I couldn’t be prouder of the team, they work so, so hard to give everyone who walks through the door the best time, the warmest of hospitality, great food and fantastic accommodation.

“It just all seems to come together and this award really is the icing on the cake.”

The annual contest was first launched by Welcome to Yorkshire in 2011 to help promote Yorkshire’s amazing variety of pubs.

In total, 16,000 votes were cast for 800 pubs entered.
