Yorkshire Day celebrations in Ilkley on August 1
ILKLEY is gearing up to celebrate Yorkshire Day on August 1.
People are invited to meet at the bandstand on The Grove at 11.20am ready for a procession along The Grove to the Town Hall on Station Road where there will be the Yorkshire Day declaration at 11.42am by Ilkley Town Crier Isabel Ashman.
The procession will be led by the New Phoenix Jazz Band, thanks to a grant given by Ilkley Town Council.
After the declaration the band will wind its way around town past some local hospitality venues.
Councillor Anne Hawkesworth (Ind, Ilkley) said: “Come and join in and wave Yorkshire flags.”
