SIX-year-old Robert Brooks, a pupil of Addingham Primary School, completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in just nine hours and 54 minutes on Sunday.

Supported by his parents, Helen and Tim, Robert set off from Ribblehead at 7.19am, climbing Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent before returning to the start at 5.13pm.

It is thought that Robert is the youngest child to complete the challenge in under ten hours, and he is believed to be only the second six-year-old to complete it.

Raising money for Friends of Addingham Primary School (FAPS) spurred him along, and his total has already passed the £500 mark.
