A SKIPTON based children's charity has received a cash boost of more than £4,716 from the Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa.

The hotel at Coniston Cold, a finalist in the large hotel category of this year's Welcome to Yorkshire's White Rose Awards, has been supporting the Principle Trust Children's Charity for the last three years.

This year, the hotel kicked off fundraising for the charity, which provides holidays by the sea for disadvantaged children and their families, at the annual Skipton Races.

It then went on raise money at its yearly dragon boat race, held on the lake at Coniston Cold and in association with Skipton Rotary Club.

It finished off with 13 members of staff completing the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

Nick Bannister, director of The Coniston Hotel Country Estate and Spa said: “We have been raising money for The Principle Trust Children’s Charity for three years now. As a local charity based in Skipton, we have built a great corporate relationship with them and have always found them an absolute pleasure to work with. We’re delighted with our fundraising efforts and we would like to thank everyone who supported us and helped us to achieve such a fantastic fundraising total. We hope that the money raised will support The Principle Trust in their great efforts.”
