JAZZ saxophonist Snake Davies performed The Impossible Dream and Chattanooga Choo Choo in Halifax with Steeton Male Voice

Snake particularly chose one of his favourites, My Girl, to be accompanied by him on saxophone with the choir singing harmonies. This item was musically arranged by Steeton’s musical director Catherine Sweet.

Choir spokesman Eric Parker said: “The concert wasa huge success and it was delightful to sing to large and enthusiastic audience. Snake’s band all have a vast knowledge of music, and the skill and experience to perform throughout the world.

“Snake was thrilled with the evening and claimed it is a world premiere. Another concert collaboration is being looked into. The audience particularly warmed to the joint item Ilkla Moor Baht ‘at, and the evening ended with a standing ovation.”

The choir will perform in the grounds of the Airedale Heifer, Riddlesden, on Sunday August 4. The choir is currently rehearsing new songs for the autumn repertoire.
