FORMER Giggleswick School student Miles Warburton has been accepted into the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to study a one-year Masters degree in acting.

Miles, from Settle, secured a first-class honours degree in performance from the University of Warwick.

"I will be receiving world-class vocal and movement training over the course of the year, culminating in a professional public showcase; this will be for agents, casting directors and film makers, seeking new talent. "I will also have the opportunity to work with directors from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre to name a few. The aim of this course is to equip me with the skills I will need to catapult my career into the professional world of acting," he said.

Notable alumni of the school include Dame Judi Dench, Martin Freeman and Andrew Garfield.

"Central is a very prestigious school and the training students receive there is outstanding. This is something I have been working towards for a long time, competing against thousands of applicants across the globe this year alone. I feel privileged to be one of just twelve students attending this fantastic school on this course in September," he added.

I am currently in the process of seeking sponsorship from a range of sources to help alleviate some of the costs of what is sure to be an amazing and fruitful year. I wonder if you could assist by publishing a short article about my efforts in your paper so as to gain some more interest further afield.
