THE works of the late Anna Adams, an artist and poet who lived in Horton-in-Ribblesdale, will be celebrated at a special event at the Gavagan Art Gallery, in Settle Town Hall on Friday. (August 9)
Anna, who died in 2011, was a talented artist and published poet who started to write in both prose and verse in the early 1960s.
Many of her poems appeared in newspapers, magazines and literary journals, such as Poetry Review, The Countryman and The Spectator.
The event is in connection with an exhibition of Anna and Norman Adams landscape paintings at the gallery, which has shown work of Norman Adams every year since it opened in Settle in 2010.
John Killick, of Settle, the publisher of Anna's poems, will present a portrait of her work at the gallery tomorrow at 3.30pm. It is a free event, but places are limited, so people need to contact the gallery to reserve a space.
The exhibition of work of Anna and Norman Adams runs until August 17. Open from Thursday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm.
