ARTISTS are being invited to help Settle Hydro celebrate its tenth anniversary.

Those entering the contest, to come up with a piece of art to celebrating the first decade of the award winning renewable energy initiative, will see their work exhibited at The Folly Museum, Settle in the autumn, while the winning piece - subject to planning permission - will be enlarged and given a permanent place at the Hydro.

The winner will also receive a membership share of the Settle Hydro company, worth £250.

Ann Harding, a founder of the Settle Hydro scheme and a member of the board said: “The judges will be looking for the winning entry to depict the role of Settle Hydro in harnessing the river to provide clean hydro-electric power as a renewable community energy resource combatting climate change. At the same time, it should portray the place of the Hydro within the community and celebrate the heritage of its home in Bridge End Mill.”

Entries for the competition close on September 11, to find out more and how to enter,
