THE Cave Rescue Organisation has made a number of donations to felllow rescue groups following an overwhelming amount of money raised after the death of caver Harry ‘Eski’ Hesketh, on June 1.
More than £14,000 was donated following an appeal for funds by friends and supporters to replace equipmen.
The CRO says it was ‘blown away’ be the generosity and because it was a multi team effort, has donated £1,500 each to Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team and to Cumbria Ore Mines Rescue Unit.
The funds will also pay for personal accident insurance for cavers list members who respond to assist.
