THE Tashi Lhumpo Monks from Tibet, are due to return to Barnoldswick in the autumn for two performances at the Rainhall Centre and also to carry out a workshop with primary school children.
It will be the second time the monks have visited the town, with their first visit a sell-out success.
‘The power of compassion’ is a blend of sacred dance and music of chant, mantras, music and dance by eight Tibetan Monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery who open a magical window on to a world of reincarnation and Buddhist mysticism which has inspired audiences in theatres and festivals throughout Europe.
From the contemplative, mesmerising chant of Buddhist texts to swirling costumed masked dances accompanied by ancient Tantric musical instruments, the Monks evoke the atmosphere of sacred Tibet.
They are due to perform at the Rainhall Centre on November 5 and on November 8, both days at 7pm. Tickets £10.
