MILLIE Thomas, from Skipton, is off to Cambridge University to study education after gaining A* in politics and history and an A in religious studies.

Millie, a student at Bradford Grammar School, said: “I was really happy to get the results I needed. The teachers have been incredibly supportive here and they really encouraged me to go for Cambridge. It’s nice to know you can put the hard work in and it’s paid off. It’s been a fantastic seven years at Bradford Grammar, and I’ve made some really good friends.”

The 18 year old is amongst 122 A Level students who are celebrating success this year at the school on Keighley Road, with 43 per cent achieving A*/A grades, including 24 students who scored A*/A exclusively. Overall, 89 per cent of students secured A*-C grades.

Headmaster, Dr Simon Hinchliffe, said the results indicated a profound love of learning at the school and he was delighted for all the young people who had worked hard for the success they deserved.
