A SERIES of job fairs is being staged across Keighley.

Housing group Incommunities is teaming-up with community partners to hold three events.

The first takes place at the Keith Thompson Centre on Thursday, September 5.

It will be followed by fairs at Hainworth Wood Community Centre on September 12 and the Sue Belcher Centre on September 19.

Young people and job seekers are being given the chance to meet potential recruiters at the events, which will all run from 3pm to 5pm. Invitations have been sent out to students, in year 11 and above, at secondary schools near the venues.

Several organisations, including Keighley College and Connexions, have already signed-up to the fairs.

As well as learning about job and training opportunities, attendees can access advice about searching job sites, preparing effective CVs and completing application forms. There will be free food and refreshments, and goody bags will be handed out to the first 100 people attending at each venue.

Julie Stanworth, Incommunities’ employability manager, said: “These job fairs aim to give young people the opportunity to meet employers face-to-face to get advice on how they can take that next step into work. As well as targeting students, we welcome people of all ages.”
