FIREFIGHTERS were called out to reports of a field ablaze at Cowling last night.
When they arrived, they discovered the fire was unattended controlled burning, across a nine-square-metre area.
Skipton firefighters were alerted to the incident at about 11.50pm.
"Crews left the fire to burn out on its own accord due to there being no danger of it spreading," said a fire service spokesman.
