A COMBINATION of a fine and sunny day and an increase in entries in most classes resulted in a very successful Bentham Agricultural Show.

Held once again at Bentham Auction Mart, crowds turned out to enjoy the livestock, produce and craft classes.

Show president, Jeanie Stainton picked out the Young Farmers stand as the best in show because it had something for everyone from a ducking stool, a judging competition, and milking a cow.

Mrs Stainton also awarded best vintage exhibit to Daniel Chapman with his Fordson Dexter which has been in his family from new.

The fantastic display of exhibits in handicrafts, horticulture and livestock was admired by all the visitors, while there was also lots to see and do around the show from the children’s entertainer to the trade stands and craft stalls.

Janet Greenwood, show secretary, said organisers were grateful to the auction mart directors and staff for the use of the site once again, and added: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported this year’s show and we hope to see them all and more again next year.”
