A LANGCLIFFE man has been banned from driving for a year after admitting driving while over the alcohol limit.

Daniel Bullough, 37, was reported to the police as a suspected drink driver after leaving a pub in the Settle area on August 30, heard Skipton Magistrates Court today (Friday).

Police caught up with him in Langcliffe Road at around 9pm, when he provided a positive roadside breath test. He was taken to a police station where at 10.20pm he provided a reading of 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35.

Bullough, who admitted drink driving, was very sorry and accepted he would be banned from driving, the court heard in mitigation.

Bullough, of Sedgewick View, Langcliffe, was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £184, with costs of £85 and a surcharge of £32.

If he completes a drink drivers rehabilitation course, his ban will be reduced by 13 weeks.
