SIR - With reference to the Craven Herald of September 5 'Birds of Prey must be left to prosper' - thank you for continuing to champion the plight of birds of prey; even made your front page! Heaven knows if a sheep goes missing and all hell breaks loose, contrast that with how many birds of prey you see every day.

Amanda Anderson's (director of Moorland Association) defensive reply was hugely disappointing, we know how hard everyone works on the moorlands, and the great results. Thank you. However; the facts are these wonderful birds are being persecuted on these lands.

I worked for 10 years on the largest estate in North Norfolk.

Come on Amanda, I know they are paying your wages, but wake up and smell the coffee beans!

May I tentatively suggest Mark Thomas RSPB's head of investigations UK) and Amanda Anderson, along with the head game keepers, of local estates, meet for a pint or Gin and tonic and discuss amicably.

Let's not follow our MPs in being complete morons, and being diametrically opposed.

The only ones to suffer are these magnificent creatures that grace our skies.

The days of Seth Armstrong are truly gone.....thank God!
