SILSDEN Town Hall will be swinging with big band music on Saturday October 12.

The ballroom will be alive with the sounds of Two Rivers Swing Band, a traditional big band performing swing era standards.

The music will include numbers by Glenn Miller and Count Basie, latin favourites, pop and more modern numbers, and rock 'n' roll.

A town hall spokesman said: "The band's two vocalists Ros and Shirley add that extra sparkle.

"Between the band’s sets, guests will be treated to dance lessons from The Swing Cats; you may have recently spotted Tom and Ellie on the TV, where they have featured on Peaky Blinders, as well as brand new BBC drama World On Fire.

"The Swing Cats are a dance team brought together by the love of vintage dance and music.

"When they’re not busy filming, this thrilling dance team can be found sharing their passion with local communities in the Yorkshire area through demonstrations, lessons, workshops, local community events and schools."

Tickets cost £10 from Twiggs Newsagents in Silsden, by visiting the TicketSource website, and possibly on the door. The bar will open at 6.30pm, with the evening kicking off officially at 7.30pm.
