A MAN had to be cut free from the wreckage of his silver Vauxhall Vectra car after being involved in a collision with a lorry on the A59 at Broughton last night.
Fire crews from Skipton and Ripon were called to the incident near the Bull Inn at around 8.25pm where they used cutting equipment to free the driver of the car.
North Yorkshire Police closed the road while the rescue went ahead and said a man in his 20s was taken to hospital suffering from serious head and facial injuries.
Police have said they do not think his injuries are life-threatening.
The road was reopened at around 5.15am today.
