PARENTS with young children are being invited to join a new , uplifting singing group which meets once a week in Skipton.
‘Come Sing With Me’ was started by the Skipton and Craven Parents Support Group last year, and is now appealing for more members to join in and experience the benefits of community singing.
The group welcomes all abilities - whether people have sung before or not - and members are encouraged to take part in songs from around the world including Yorkshire folk songs, Polynesian boat songs, Gospel, Rastafarian chants, rounds, two-part harmonies and nursery rhymes with props.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Singing boosts mood and well-being. All abilities are welcome and some parents come just to enjoy listening. Often the little ones rock to the sound of the singing.”
The group meets at Skipton Children’s Centre, Brougham Street, on Friday mornings, between 9.30am and 11am and is open to all parents and their children.
