SIR - The Salvation Army is the largest provider of social care in the UK other than the state.
To support this, every September there is a door to door collection appeal across the country, including Craven.
May I use your column to express heartfelt thanks, not on behalf of The Salvation Army (though we are grateful) but of those who will benefit from the money raised: victims of human trafficking, those who have been made homeless, elderly persons and young people in our care homes, those with learning difficulties discovering a sense of self worth in centres such as Hadleigh, Essex and Strawberry Field, Liverpool. One could go on but that snapshot gives part of the picture
So, to all who gave and all, Salvationists and other, who collected on their behalf, many thanks
If anyone would like to help in your area next year, please let me know.
