BUSINESSES and organisations are being invited to get out their paddles for Skipton Rotary Club’s annual dragon boat racing.

Entries have opened for the competition, which will be held again at the lake at Coniston Hotel and Country Estate, on May 17 next year.

This year, the Sutcliffe Slayers, of Sutclife Construction, snatched the trophy from winners of the first competition in 2018, the Coniston Hotel.

More than 20 teams took part in this years event and many have already decided to take part again next year, hoping to beat the more than £15,000 raised for a range of charities.

Teams can either raise money for their own charity, or for the rotary’s chosen charity, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust Charitable Fund.

Teams need to have at least six paddlers and one drummer, but can be up to 10 paddlers and one drummer. Entry fee per team is £475, numbers are limited. Entries need to be made by December 31, more details on the club website.
