FASHION retailer Damart is celebrating its customers.

Staff at the company, whose warehousing facility is in Steeton, are taking part in activities marking National Customer Service Week.

People have been invited to tour the firm’s headquarters and customer service centre, which handles thousands of calls every week.

Special awards are being presented to staff for outstanding service and there are quizzes.

Damart – which employs 650 people and has around two million customers in the UK – is also spotlighting its in-house apprenticeships, in areas including customer service, and new technologies.

Jeanette Askin, the company’s head of customer service, said: “As a business we are passionate about our customers and how we can best serve them.

“Over the past six years we have worked in partnership with the Institute of Customer Service, receiving its world-class ‘service mark’ accreditation and working on how we can keep on improving.

“Taking part in National Customer Service Week is a great way for us to engage with our colleagues and customers to communicate how we can keep on getting better for them.”
