EXPRESSIONS Drama recently celebrated a successful first year with a birthday party for students.

The agency, run by former actress Rachael Delaney, started off in Skipton, and now has classes in Cross Hills and in Bingley. It runs classes for those from seven years old to adults, who want to break into television, drama and theatre.

Rachael said: “We have achieved so much. Students have performed live showcases, taken part in competitive speech and drama festivals, taken Trinity London Examinations and had an amazing trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

“Working with our sister company Northern Talent we have also managed to provide students with television appearances working as supporting artists and also as featured characters. We are looking forward to the year ahead when more of our students will experience being in front of the camera.”

Students are now working towards taking two shows to next year’s Fringe Festival.

“Our senior drama students will be taking a play written and devised by themselves and then we have our musical theatre students taking The Hairspray Musical,” said Rachael.

Expressions has recently started a weekly musical theatre class on Tuesdays in Glusburn. Students from the class will be auditioning for parts in Hairspray early next month.
