POLICE are appealing directly to people who may have been in bars or cafes on Bedford Street in Middlesbrough yesterday as they work to trace a man they are concerned about.

Cleveland officers are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a man seen getting into a silver Ford Kuga (registration XUI 1442) outside O’Connells public house at around midday.

DS Chris Pringle said: “The area was very busy at this time and people in the cafes or bars on Bedford Street may have information which could help our ongoing investigation.

"We were called by a member of the public who had concerns for the welfare of a man they saw get into a silver Ford Kuga.

"We're confident other people may also have seen this and can help us.

“We’d ask them to contact us urgently on 101, reference 175906.”

The silver Ford Kuga is believed to have entered Bedford Street from Albert Road and stopped opposite O’Connells. It then drove along the street, turning left onto Linthorpe Road and travelling towards the Crown junction (Linthorpe and Borough Roads.)

Enquiries are ongoing to trace the location of the vehicle, its occupant/s and the man. The vehicle we want to trace is pictured below. If you’d prefer to report anonymously you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
