IT’S been a couple of years since legendary saxophonist Snake Davis performed at The Mart Theatre in Skipton, and he is really pleased to be back, he says.

“It’s such a unique space that transforms in front of us as we set up and the audiences are always so welcoming,” he said.

Snake says next month’s performance will feature his four piece band, enabling him to perform on several different instruments.

Most people think of Snake Davis as the session saxophonist who performed Million Love songs for Take That or Moving on Up for M-People, but he performs on flute, shakuhachi and whistle too.

And, he also toured with the Irish girl band B-Witched in the late ’90’s with only his Irish whistle, much easier to travel with than the family of saxophones he normally takes on the road.

The show at the Mart Theatre on the 1st November will include some of the tunes from the Classic Sax Solos show that he also tours with as well as popular tunes and self penned favourites.

“It’s an all inclusive show that suits all ages. It’s not unusual to see three generations of a family sat together.,” he says.

It is clear that Snake loves live music and his passion is to convey that love, enthusiasm and energy to his audiences. If you want to beat the seasonal blues, then this show is the one to choose.

The Snake Davis Band is at The Mart Theatre, Gargrave Road, on Friday, November 1 at 7.30pm. Tickets £17/£15 Tel: 01756 709666 or online at:themarttheatre.org.uk
