A CHARITY ball in aid of Prostate Cancer UK is due to take place at Stirk House Hotel and Spa, Gisburn on Saturday, November 23.
The ball has been organised by farmer Aimee Beresford, whose father, Gordon Beresford, also a farmer, was successfully treated for prostate cancer several years ago.
Aimee said they wanted to raise awareness of the cancer which is the most common cancer in men in the UK, killing one man every 45 minutes, and to get them talking about it - particularly those in the farming community.
She is appealing to businesses, or individuals to sponsor a table at the event, for £25 perhaps in someone’s memory, or donate a prize for the auction on the night. Names will feature on the table plan, the table and in every brochure, and all proceeds will go to the charity.
In charge of the auction will be livestock auctioneer, Ted Ogden.
Anyone able to help with sponsorship, or with an auction prize, can contact Aimee Beresford, on 07917715830.
