A HOUSEBUILDER has helped with improvements to a community.
Barratt Homes Yorkshire West has donated materials and carried out work to spruce-up Silsden.
It has replaced paving, tended to walls and installed a new bench at a popular beckside spot in the centre of the town.
Improvements in the park include the creation of a seedbed, the relaying of a patio in front of the bowls pavilion and steps near the skate park, reinforcement work to the edge of the tennis court and the rebuilding of a stone pillar.
And the company has also donated building materials and labour to The Hive community centre.
Ian Ruthven, Barratt managing director, said: “We pride ourselves on being able to support the areas in which we build. It was a pleasure to be involved with the improvements made to Silsden.”
The support was welcomed by town councillor, Richard Barton.
“We are incredibly pleased with the improvements that Barratt Homes has made to Silsden,” he said. “The beckside, park and The Hive were all in need of a revamp, that would have taken much longer to complete without help.”
